Ms. Strassfield went on to say, “I like the way Elizabeth Peyton handles the paint; it’s very fluid and follows in the footsteps of Fairfield Porter. Liz Peyton chose the portraits herself, and arranged them herself.” There are over 40 works, including etchings, monotypes, lithographs and Ukiyo-e woodcuts from 1998-2006. Many of the works come from Peyton’s own private inventory, and therefore have never been seen before. They include images of present day celebrities, family and friends.

The Brakke Grond is difficult to access because it doesn't publish any English information; making it hard to find and hard to follow what's going on. Its the Flemish cultural centre and it is located in a street called Nes, which is just off the Dam.

If you take the trouble to find it,you will discover it is one of the better art venues. The latest hang, by Nick Ervinck is well worth a visit.
