authorship

The text in the 'happy famous artists' blog entry has raised a number of issues for me concerning authorship. The original text as written by Sam Steverlynck. But as I put it through babelfish, an artificial construct which has transformed the text, it is not a true translation by a human author, its a new text. So who is the author? Is it still Sam's text? Can we ascribe authorship to babelfish or its creators? Are the HFA's also collaborators as they provided the conceptual content? Or what about the philosophers and the graphic artists who provided the trademarks? Am I the author?
